Questions people actually ask

No. A Potli doesn't store value indefinitely the way a wallet does. It's a temporary pool created for one purpose — a trip, event, or shared expense — that empties out and closes once that purpose is done, with any leftover refunded.

Yes. Contributions are held in a regulated virtual account with our licensed banking partner, not in any account Potli controls. We only instruct payouts — we never take custody of the money ourselves.

It's refunded to every member proportionally, based on how much each person contributed.

Yes. Admins can set a spend limit per member. Once someone gets close to their limit, further spends need explicit admin approval before any money moves.

No. Contributions are never invested, lent, or used to earn returns for Potli or anyone else. The pool holds exactly what was put in, minus what's been spent.

Approved expenses are paid directly to the vendor's UPI ID from the group's pool — no member ever has to pay out of pocket and wait to be repaid.

The expense is blocked automatically and flagged to the group admin. You'll see exactly how much you've spent and how much you have left before you try again.

After a few incorrect attempts, your account is temporarily locked for a short period before you can try again — this protects your account from anyone trying to guess your OTP.

Stop chasing settlements.
